A few months ago, CJ Wood joined our staff as our new head developer. Since then he’s been investigating all of the moving parts that make Go iLawn and Go iPave perform, all the while making a lot of changes for us internally to improve our systems and processes.
He’s also been listening to our customers and our sales staff to understand how landscape, pavement maintenance and snow removal contractors use property measuring software to get ahead. As a result, he’s got a lot of big ideas to enhance our tools.
But before CJ puts his big ideas in motion, he’s releasing a lot of little ones. Hence, our new feature alert.
New Go iLawn & Go iPave “Confirm Delete” Feature
One of the features in our property measuring software is the ability to delete measurements. There are a few ways you can do this when measuring properties on Go iLawn and Go iPave:
- You can delete a measurement by selecting the red ‘x’ from the measurement result box.
- You can delete all of your measurements by selecting ‘clear all’ on the measurement result panel.
- You can right click on a completed measurement, select ‘delete’, and delete it on purpose.
- You can right click on a completed measurement, select ‘delete’, and delete it on accident.
One Small Change, Many Big Smiles
The fourth method is always the least favorite method of deleting measurements among all of our users and support staff. It may induce panic, anger, possibly some cursing, and unfortunately there’s no way to reverse it- or any of the other methods for that matter. Once a measurement is gone, it’s gone.
So in order to prevent the consequences of the fourth method, we’ve added a feature that helps you avoid them. Now when you delete a measurement we will ask you if you’re sure you want to delete it. You have to select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ before the measurement actually gets deleted. Click on the image below to enlarge the screen shot of this feature in the app.
This is a small addition to our tool set, but hopefully it will bring you a large amount of joy the next time you almost delete a measurement on accident. Stay tuned for more updates by CJ soon!
